A Lipoblastoma on Buttock in Young Child

Abstract

|
|
Lipoblastoma and lipobalstomatosis are rare, benign soft tissue tumors composed of embryonal fat. They are almost seen exclusively in infants and young children, and 80-90% of cases present before 3 years of age. We experienced a 14-month-old girl who presented with a palpable mass on the buttok. It was suspected to be a benign lipoblastoma on sonography and magnetic resonance imaging. The tumor was completely excised. Histologic diagnosis was a benign lipoblastoma.
